Nikolay Andreevich Peregoudov was born on a freezy day of January 31, 1930 in Moscow

Nikolay and his sister Nina grew up in an artistic family, surrounded by talented parents. His mother, Vera Anatolyevna, was a solo-singer in ''the State TV and Radio Choir” and played the piano brilliantly. His father, Andrey Dmitrievich, was a talented artist and a violin player.

Despite all the difficulties caused by the Second World War, Nikolay received an excellent musical education: first he graduated from Ipatjevskij Musical College and the Moscow Conservatory. He dedicated his life to his work as a musician but also enjoyed a variety of hobbies, such as skiing, swimming and volleyball. He was a talented, tactful man who showed great professionalism throughout his life.

Nikolay Andreevich Peregoudov was an outstanding cello player and was awarded to the rank of a National Artist of Russia. For fifty years he worked for the most acclaimed orchestra in Russia — the Grand Symphonic Orchestra from famous conductor, Jurij Silantjev. With his orchestra Nikolay travelled around the world, sharing the joy of music.

He was a fan of soccer and a passionate mushroom picker, he also liked travelling and photography. He was a well-read man and hand built a cottage where he planted a beautiful garden. Here he spend time with his family where they enjoyed simple but tasty home cooked meals and organized big feasts for their friends during the holidays.

Nikolay Andreevich Peregoudov was a great father, friend and colleague. He was a handsome man, who knew how to love and to appreciate life. His spirit has been the foundation for the concept of ‘Nikolay’
